(More customer reviews)I felt it was important to post feedback on these earrings and the company's policy. To be fair, Sara was very nice in trying to get a refund for this item. The company was largely unresponsive until I talked with her. I contacted the company by email detailing my complaint. I understand their "policy" that unopened items cannot be return, which is in small writing. It reminds me of legal language. The more important thing is the false advertising in this situation. A picture appeared with two earrings in the ad. My twins were very excited to get this for Christmas. I will not buy from this company or any other (unless well reputed by referral) again. Anyway, the package came and as kids do, they opened it. They figured only one of their pair of earrings had come. I actually thought the same, but we worked that out. One decided to wait. Then, as we realized that this was actually the whole order, we determined that each of them would get just one. We were working it out. Sharing. But then, my daughter said that it would not fit through the ear hole. I couldn't believe it. This is half of the size of a traditional stud. I have used a nose ring. I wouldn't use this for that or on the lip as the metal looks poor quality. It could be sterling silver, but without a jeweler or artisan, I wouldn't trust that it is sterling silver. I have seen this quality at Wal Mart. Actually, Wal Mart's quality appears better in my opinion. I have sterling silver. The metal does not look good and it is bent in an odd way--not like the good quality lip rings or studs. I could provide a picture, but I have to make sure that is okay. I will post it tomorrow. Anyway, you will just get one from the company for $9.50 and might have problems at the piercing. So "caveat emptor." The other thing is that the backing, which is plastic, is very tiny and no extras. So if you lose this, there is nothing you can do about it. Buy locally. Support your community. That is what I will be doing.
I told Sara I will be using this in a pottery piece. I might move it around. I have a raw piece which is a kitty bank. My daughter crafted this with some instruction and based on my work. Also, you became part of my ethics lesson as I discussed Pascal. Bottom line--use caution when doing "business" with this or any company. Also a good legal lesson, again, "Let the buyer beware." Enough said.
